A Moment

I tread lightly

       steps falling into place

       unconsciously

a brief meeting

between earth and sky

in which,

     for a moment,

           I feel both.

A Theory About Migraines

I have my own theory about migraines.

We all know the symptoms

     which cause us

to retreat into darkness,

removing painful stimulus

best moderated by defective dimmer switch.

Mine usually arrive at the end of a period

   of shining,

a forced reclusiveness

to recharge

and turn inward again,

perhaps in direct correlation

to the amount

              of shine.

A Mid-Life Two Step

The moon dances

     in step

with  the silver

     of star light’s reflection caught

in the light of you

  as we detail our tensions

in muscles long fraught—

Each one a road

posted and marked

No trespassing.

Not so long ago

the moon’s door

stood ajar,

its darkness, an invitation

   to excess.

A Brew of Words

Stirring vacuous words
within my pot
i find those which bite when I inhale them

pungency revisited
