Waves swollen like tears upon leaves

burst each one

upon spiked lashes of

sand

a universe pulled into a black hole of certitude

its retreat pungent

upon my cheek

  9. The idea of a 'black hole of certitude' evokes a VERY vivid picture in my mind. Certitude seems to be generally a good thing, but thinking about it as being a black hole gives it a whole new dimension.

  12. I was wondering if you had meant your poem to coincide with the sad anniversary of the tsunami in Japan! The black and white of your photo and words reminded me of the sadness of this event.
