In A Place That Time Forgot

I look at you and wonder
Will we touch again?
Can we rush toward each other
In the foment of early morning or
In the stillness of midnight?
Frozen in time,
Chilled by years,
Forgotten in the onslaught of life,
Lies fertile in me.
Gather me.
Wash me again in whispers that cascade
Like drops glistening on translucent skin,
That I may drink in the fullness of love made new
In a place that time forgot.

The Mirror Cracked

Temerity, hide not your face
Behind the shredded skirts of my compassion.
You thief in the night,
You steal the bravado
You no longer can generate out of disregard.
Heedlessly, you direct the actions of others
Like marionettes on silken threads
Silvered like piano wire.
And soullessly, you abandon them
When you are called upon
To feel
Hide not your face in me.

The Unmoneyed Eye

Protesting brain,
You occupy me with thoughts of words
Unloved in the world of grown-ups.
 This work-a-day world
Values not the charm of the word
Poised over a heart ready to caress or to wound,
At the pleasure of the speaker.
How unfair to have so wrapped
My mind with valueless words.
Unseemly to the moneyed eye,
Am I.
