I tried to cook
But lost my place
On the recipe card
That held the right mix
Of salt to sauce.

And as I swung my hips
In your direction
I lost the spice jar as well.
But oh my oh my
I didn’t lose the sauce!

  1. Oh how many times I forgot the amount of an ingredient like salt, but so true as long as you don't forget the overall recipe. Wonderful poem and thanks for linking up with us!! :)

  3. damn! very creative (on the FTSF) theme.

excellent photo-accompaniment* but those little figurines got to make you think, what did the world look like to those people, back in the 1700's? Like did everyone wear shirts with frilly cuffs and the women had arms like Popeye?

sorry, careening off topic, enjoyed your Post.

    (* that's a real word, right?)

  4. Great poem for FTSF! I'd lose the salt, sauce and everything in between...even with recipes, I'm quite a disaster in the kitchen!

  7. I feel like I need to read and reread a new recipe only once. If I think about it too much, it will surely be horrible. It's the older recipes that I mess up. I need to "recreate" what I had done the last time, so I take note of how I did it the time before...that's when it gets too hard for me!

  8. I do that in recipes...and mis-measure stuff because I read the wrong line. Haha. And I'm SURE you are a fabulous cook! :D

  10. I love this! FTSF is so much fun- you never know what super creative stuff people will come up with. Your poem evoked an image of me in my kitchen tonight, dancing by myself!
