    1. in the spill
      of shadow
      over soul

      we fight
      each declination
      of light sometimes
      wearing our bones
      as cape, counsel
      and crown

      ------------
      good thoughtful piece

    1. I think that is why we all rest in words--there is a peace that can be found

    1. Ah-Jae--I love that idea--if portraits could speak, what might their stories be like?

  7. This is a treat for the senses. The soothing first line, the promise in the second line, and the beautiful image painted by your closing line. Just perfect!

  8. This is so powerful – an adroit intermingling of visual, discernment and recognition. The last line is superb.

  14. I'm picturing two portraits ... or perhaps a family. A marriage having fallen apart; wading through that hopeless silent stage ... knowing it's over but not being ready to move forward.

Or more likely, you are attending a funeral.

This is the beauty of micro poetry. So many stories are hidden inside.

  18. So few words in this poem and yet incredibly powerful. So often we hide behind our feelings. And then they bubble to the surface and it's not so easy to suppress them.
In any case, I can't wait to read your poetry book one of these days. :D Haha. Yeah, that's right. I'm wondering when it'll come out. ;)

  19. This is a lovely meditative moment that seems well suited to the summer weather I've been getting. Shady trees seem perfect for pondering on a hot summer day.
