winter blooms
sending cool thoughts
to heated days

we wait
turn clocks

a light in the window
at dusk

i begin again
knit
purl
to cover you
when you arrive

  1. Audrey! How wonderful! Gorgeous to be knitting for a new little life on its way. That will help with the empty nest!!!!! I cant wait to see the poems you will write to the new little wayfarer. Is this one the first?

  2. What a beautiful poem, Audrey. I am sure you will enjoy every stitch you make of that blanket, knowing that it will cover that little Max when he arrives! How lucky he is to have you making things for him like this.

  3. Oh Audrey many congrats....how wonderful the anticipation to welcome this beauty new life. I have no children but my eldest niece just had a baby boy, Finley, and I felt like a grandmother or how I supposed a grandmother would feel.
