Candyland Revisited

Morguefile
quicksandala

gingerbread houses line candy apple streets
where caramel people
go to work in houses
owned by meringues
who live under plastic wrap
for protection
never really comprehending
that moments collide
without warning

sluicing out the chaff

  3. This reminds me of the 1962 song that mocked suburban tract housing as "little boxes" of different colors "all made out of ticky-tacky", and which "all look just the same". I forget who write it, but the title was "Little Boxes", I think.

  8. Minds and thoughts can go stale under plastic. Hearts too. Best to air them out and expose them to fresh air. It might just cut down on the number of collisions.
