Fragile Lives

i sit, cracks iridescent
in blues and greens,
the color of the ocean,
of the sky on a clear day.

the softness of my sadness
has filled each crack slowly
time's trowel
busy with the memory's putty

i trace each line
replete,
as i am reshaped.

i am fine with that

after all,
i love blue and green.

  11. Yes, we will be reshaped. We must make room for the sorrow, it will be with us always. A beautiful write! One of my favorite words, "tender," the other is "trace."

  13. Oh! Such insight and wisdom! Now I understand how grief changes us:
    "time's trowel
busy with the memory's putty" and ultimately being OK with that. I also like blue and green, especially when it ebbs and flows.

  19. In kintsugi, the crack becomes beautified with the gold. I hope the sorrow you feel will slowly fade until it becomes golden. Lovely and sad poem.
