Back To Start

In die Unendlichkeit oder In die Ewigkeit hinein bzw. Frauen in Landschaft, Paul Schad Rossa

youth dampens
the sharp edge of wisdom
libido trailing
the nuanced curve of time
     back to start

wisdom erased
erased by the onionskin membrane
of ganglia
worn to transparency
by the curvilinear
notion of time
     back to start

each membrane sloughed off
slowly
inexorably
down to nub
     back to start

  1. I really like this:
    'the nuanced curve of time'
So many nice lines in this. I wonder how many times we do go Back to start. Strangely enough I'd written a bit about that for something for tomorrow too. :)
Hope you are well Audrey, good to see you!

  2. Really beautiful and vivid. I like your form here too, Audrey. Back to start can be a good thing.

  3. I like the progression you take as you move from stanza to stanza, the middle being the one with the most medical terminology, which I absolutely love using myself, very nicely done. Thanks

  4. layer upon layer back to the start...really nice progression and flow in this...the middle stanza in particular...

  5. I can definitely relate to this one today--"worn to transparency
by the curvilinear/notion of time.." I don't think I can take another rewind, myself. Liked this much.

  6. same line as hedge above...and then the going back to start, to where it began...made me think of ashes to ashes..the german line under the pic says..into eternity or endlessness...perfect match..

  7. "erased by the onionskin membrane
    of ganglia
    worn to transparency
    by the curvilinear
notion of time"....wow as one living with a brain deteriorating more rapidly than the average person my age...this holds deep connection (though mine are becoming more broken all the "time")...oh but connections are so much more than physical.

    wonderful poem Audrey

  9. Nice use of "back to start" at the end of each verse ~ I like to think we are always starting and renewing ~

  10. There's a circle of life here, death, resurrection, rebirth. The refrain old as the idea of chorus perhaps to the dawn of time.

  22. Any poet who writes of ganglia is a keeper in my books!!

And do you know what, Audrey Howitt, who does live and breathe poetry... apparently our bodies are completely renovated each 7 years, due to new cells being born and such. But I bet you did know that, 'cause you are one smart (and poetically) awesome cookie!!

And you're 5th in line for a sidebar button from me. (for what a sidebar button over in Funsterland is worth.) :) To me it means you are a true blogging friend who has connected deeply with me.

    xo

There -- the comment sans typos. My life is now complete.
