NaNo NaNo, I'm Nuked

i find my thoughts strained
like puree
maybe strawberry i think

i think idly that would taste good
delish in fact
better than tomato

but its only because i haven't had any in a while

the nano is done
i submitted at 50148 words
but the story
well that might take a while yet

but the brain needs some rewiring
right about now
so short me
or slide me a new one

silver platter is over there
just ready

stop short of the fingers please
they are on auto pilot.

Hi everyone. NaNoWriMo is done and I finished! The event, not the novel. I think I am about 2/3 there. I am taking some time to read and write some poetry before I go back to it!

  1. hey good on you for putting in the work...its great that you got such a start and i would not be kicking myself for not finishing...hopefully you can make something of what you have done so far...

  2. Good for you Audrey - you got a lot done! Loved the cleverness of this poem.

  3. Congratulations on meeting the challenge with gusto. Now the rewrite and finished product. Very exciting news and well done, my friend.

  4. Yes, do take a break, and congrats on being 2/3 of the way completed. Yay!

  5. Glad you survived, Audrey! And glad you had time to share poetically what sounds a bit of an ordeal.

  6. 50,000 words is a lot of words. After that, no surprise that the brain might need a bit of rewiring. I commend you for your motivation & your accomplishment.

  7. WooHoo Congrats! That is quite some accomplishment.

  8. Congratulations on the 50148 words, Audrey! No wonder your brains feel like puree. I hope the poem was a good way to relax.

  9. uf, after this, i believe your brain needs something else, rewiring yes :)

  10. Enjoyed your strawberry puréed brain... Congratulations on crossing the NaNo finishing line - I know the feeling all too well... Enjoy some rest, relaxation and allowing the wires to cooool....

  11. O. dear, 'fingers on autopilot' ~ I can imagine you drumming at the dinner table. Congratulation on surviving NaNo and completing 2/3 of novel. Best wishes for next steps x

  12. Ah.. that sounds like such a feat.. I'm so far from ready to enter that craze... but my sincere congrats.. :-)

  13. I'd say 2/3 is remarkable. I wasn't aware of the challenge, and I don't think I'd be up to it...I find it difficult to write a poem in a month. I like what you've done here to memorialize the ordeal...silver platter and all!

  14. Congrats. You've made it, now enjoy that drink.

  15. yeah! good for you, Audrey.

Now just the editing and revision...and soon you will have a finished product :)

  16. Congratulations! I tried Nano once, when I aimed to write 30 short stories in a month and fell short at 27.
    :-) Take some rest now.

  17. Congrats Audrey. That's a huge feat. Wow.

  18. Congratulations on the win! That is awesome. I love the poem.

  19. congrats you are worth winning!! keep on writing we will read!! smiles:))
