Summer Ghosts

when days grow long
so does love,
curled up on some parking lot tarmac
radiating heat
until long after sunset

i drink a lemonade
slowly, sip pulp
the way you loved
lemonade,
twinges memory

i recall days when
we sat underneath
leafy trees
their canopies wide above us

and i look for you
arising from the heat
beneath me.
