I'm a fermata

We clap rhythms to songs we know
guessing which, as coffee fills the air.
The opening to Eine kleine nachtmusik stumped me this morning.
Nerdling games I know.
I'm a fermata, so hold me.

It is fun--and coffee makes everything better!
Deleteoh - being a musician, i LOVE this.. what a cool play on the fermata and holding... oh i like
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are both musicians--can you guess the number of pianos we own?
DeleteOh, I would really like this game, I think!! In fact, I have the desire not to teach it to my grandchildren. I do think Eine kleine nachtmusik would be hard to guess.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary! I loved your piece today!
DeleteVery cool game! I remember a similar game where we would sing the beginning of the tunes of TV series.
ReplyDeleteSuch games is what hold love together...Love that.
ReplyDeleteSo hold me, I like the ending ~ Sounds fun & filled with much love, smiles ~
ReplyDeleteA hoot! Hope the hug went on for many measures.
ReplyDeleteSo much packed into so few lines, very cool; we play Movie Trivia games, quoting lines, guessing the film; like your piece very much; thanks for the visit at my site.
ReplyDeleteWow... you put a lot in there. Well done. Thanks for joining in.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mystic_Mom--I looked for your blog but didn't see it--would like to reciprocate!
DeleteSounds a bit like "Name that Tune!" Not a music reader, had to look up the term "fermata"(when I could've just looked at Brian's comment!) Love learning new words. Perfect little moment in time shared. Nicely done indeed.
ReplyDeleteLove it when music and game are in tandem. Should be lots of fun! Nicely Audrey!
ReplyDeleteHank
Oh Hank it is fun!
DeleteSounds like fun still the same...
ReplyDeleteThis brings me back to the games we'd play as kids. What a fun family game.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun! We also play name the composer--kids hated it when they were little!
DeleteIt's a beautiful game - nice play with words in a short canvas.
ReplyDeleteto be in love's grip!!
ReplyDeleteHaha. Clever and sweet.
ReplyDeleteOK...guess this one by a German composer ....non musicians only know the famous slow movement of the piano sonata
ReplyDeleteLeft Hand...ta tay ti ta te ti ta te ti ta te ti ta te ti .....and on and on the triplets go until the end.
It does not matter how many pianos you own because at this stage you cannot find the keys to any of them:)
Moonlight Sonata! Got it!
DeleteThe words are like music. Nice.
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of this game but it sounds such fun!
ReplyDeletehow witty!
ReplyDeleteNow how do I get the tune out of my head .....
Clever
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever! This one brought a smile to my face. :)
ReplyDeleteNow, I not only wish I had music lessons as a child, but that I also knew the game! .. sad face,
ReplyDeleteha. smiles.. games are so fun, too bad we don't play enough as adults as we did when we were kids.
I envy the musically inclined. I'm musically declined, myself :/ ~
ReplyDeleteStop the moment, you are beautiful! ~ funny :)
ReplyDeleteYou are more than clever! ;)
