Somewhere Green

i stopped somewhere green

unmarked in my mind's eye.

a stone blocking my way

told tales belonging to another

of birth and death

so young.

a lamb covered the stone

draped in body

holding soul

to ground

until mother could retrieve

it on her way

to somewhere green

unmarked in her mind's eye.

  3. I specially like this imagery:

    a lamb covered the stone
    draped in body
    holding soul
    to ground

    Happy weekend Audrey ~

  5. Your title alone suggests so many things, images, memories, states of being, special places...etc. And then your poem which adds a depth and recall to spring and Easter and it's true meanings.

  6. I too especially liked the imagery Heaven quoted. And the title, as soulsmusic said, is evocative.

  7. I love the whole idea of somewhere green, and pick up undertones of a young soul "held to ground" till its mother can take it to somewhere green. Beautiful and rather mystical.

  8. I stopped somewhere green...that unmarked location within that we can tap into -- wow. Love this.

  9. it's very hard for me me to find this place, Audrey, I guess it requires one's heart and mind to be restful. I hope to be there someday.

  11. I think the meadow we have inside.. the one we seek...is the one we need.

  12. I guess we all like to find this kind of safe haven, even if mine would be more blue than green!

  13. I am seeking that green place....I would guess it will be a while before one will be visible here. Unless, like in the poem, one can find 'green' in one's mind.

  17. Audrey,

A pleasant spirituality about this poem. A presence between worlds, seaching for contentment found in the place of 'somewhere green.'...Lovely, as a tribute to the character of the painting:)

Nice to catch up with you Audrey, Eileen
